Sam Daugherty is a Principal Technical Professional at Baroid with over 15 years of experience in drilling fluids, geomechanics, and wellbore strengthening. He began his career in 2009 as a mud engineer and now specializes in applying stress and fracture mechanics to well planning and execution.
Sam has supported operations across the Gulf of America, U.S. Land, and currently the Guyana-Suriname Basin. He helps teams optimize drilling performance, mitigate losses, and strengthen wellbores using Baroid’s DFG geomechanics platform. His work bridges complex modelling with field execution—delivering measurable reductions in non-productive time, loss events, and drilling costs.
